Phone Cases

Hey everyone,

Today I just wanted to share a quick note & let you know that Ballet Zaida Phone Cases are now available!

You can check out the first batch of available images right here.

I'm very excited about these. Phones have become such a personal item, they represent & hold a piece of our identity. So I thought it would be really cool to have a phone case that shares an image from Ballet Zaida.

My wife Nicole & I have been using them for a while now, & they look great. The colors really pop off the case.

And the image wraps around so you get the big picture.

More images from Ballet Zaida will become phone cases in the future.

The phone cases are currently available for all the most popular phones. (iPhones & Androids) After you select the image you want, you can select the model & size that fits your phone.

I'd love to know what images you guys think should be phone cases. Let me know by tagging Zaida in a photo on Instagram & say in the caption you think it would be cool as a phone case.

Photo Lesson with Stephen

Oliver Endahl

Hey everyone,

Being a photographer, sometimes I give lessons to my friends & teach them how to shoot using a DSLR camera. Recently I've been teaching my friend Stephen Jacobsen.

It's fun to teach someone photo techniques about how to manually control the light, & it's also good because during the lesson I'm the model. I think it's healthy to be on the other side of the camera once in a while to remind yourself what it's like.

Here's a few of my favorite photos we captured around Hollywood the other day. (These shots were taken by Stephen & edited by myself)

#TheStars #Hollywood

#GQColorPalette

#NewCameraBag

That last one of my bag I requested Stephen get a shot of. I recently designed my new camera bag from the Timbuk2 website & am stoked with the results. (& I can fit both my camera's, 3 lenses & a bounce flash in there)

Stephen has a great eye for photos & improves every time we shoot.

Stay tuned for more,

Long Exposures

Oliver Endahl

Hey everyone,

Today I want to share some photos from a recent shoot I did using a long exposure concept.

A long exposure is generally when you leave the shutter open on the camera for several seconds, which lets light be captured for an extended period of time, & can create a transparent looking image.

The dancers featured in this series are Andie Bartol & Affinity Morgan Quinn.

I've experimented with the long exposure concept before, but never with just the feet in pointe shoes, on a backdrop like this.

To achieve this, I had a flash positioned to the dancer's left, which went off at the start of the photo process. The dancer would then move for 8 seconds as we "painted" the feet with a laser light I had placed to the dancer's right.

I wasn't sure how this concept would turn out, but I think the results are interesting & I hope you do too. I'll definitely be  experimenting more with this approach in the future.
