Happy Christmas Eve! Whether you celebrate Christmas or not I hope you have a good day!
Oliver and I are currently road tripping for our annual Christmas family pilgrimage.
I enjoy a lot about Christmas, besides the time with family and amazing food, my favorite part is definitely watching A Christmas Story. A lot of people would argue that Elf is the best Christmas movie, but they are wrong.
I absolutely love this movie. It perfectly captures the nostalgia of what it's like to be a kid waiting for Christmas. The bullies! The family! The Leg Lamp! The Triple Dog Dare! The Drama! The Furnace! and most importantly the Presents!!
The pinnacle of most kid's Christmas is the presents. The drama for Ralphie is whether or not he would receive the Red Ryder Carbine Action 200-shot Range Model air rifle with a compass in the stock. For me it was probably the new furby, barbie dream house, or my twin doll.
He goes to all the obvious people, his mom, the teacher, Santa, but in the end The Old Man comes through. Surprise dad moves! Coming through in the end!
My dad is one of the reasons I love this movie. I can hear him pointing out different jokes and quoting it through out the year. I could probably recite every line of this movie, even so, I plan on watching it at least three times as it marathons on TBS with my family.
I hope you have a nice day tomorrow and if you celebrate, have a Merry Christmas!
